SPPA offers the 4-year full-time undergraduate program in public administration for applicants with the science background. Graduates are granted with the bachelor’s degree in management. Students spend the first two years completing general courses and compulsory courses about public administration and then they are streamed into two directions, public administration or labor & social security, according to social demand and personal choice. The program puts great emphasis on enabling students to address practical issues in public administration.
Objectives:
The program aims to foster top-level administrative talents with systematic command of modern theories and methods in public administration, with the ability to solve practical problems in public administration, and with good social commitment and a global vision. They are competent for research and practice of public administration in government departments at all levels, public institutions, and industrial and commercial enterprises.
Teaching Resources:
The School has a faculty of 47, with 37 professors or associated professors. There is a teaching and experimental center for undergraduates.
Program Features:
The undergraduate program aims to cultivate talents with global vision and research orientation. The curriculum is designed to develop students’ ability to solve practical problems in public administration. Cooperation has been established with prestigious universities in Hong Kong, Taiwan and U.S.A. in talent cultivation and research. Meanwhile, through cooperating with local governments or government departments, SPPA has established social practice bases, which facilitate students’ practice.
After Graduation:
Nearly half of the graduates chose to pursue postgraduate study in China, about 10% did so abroad, and the others are employed, mainly in government departments, public institutions and large enterprises, and have earned positive feedback from employers.
