School of Public Policy and Administration of XJTU is established on two disciplines, Management Science and Engineering, and Public Administration. Currently, the school consists of Department of Public Administration, Department of Social Security, Institute of Population and Development, Institute of Social Medicine and Health Management Policy, Institute of Technology Advancement and Policy, Institute of Asian and European Studies, Institute of Higher Education, Research Center of Western China Development, Research Center of Performance Management, Research Center of Social Security and Actuarial Practice, MPA (Master of Public Administration) Training Center, and Training Center of Advanced Civil Servants.
 
School of Public Policy and Administration is headed by Jiang Zhenghua, famous population economist and former vice chairman of the Standing Committee of National People’s Congress. So far our school has fostered over 80 PhDs of Management Science and Engineering. The six master programs, which include public administration, Social Security, Social Medicine and Health Management, Land Management, Higher Education, and Library Science, have fostered 258 postgraduates. The MPA Professional Master Program has cultivated 416 MPA masters. Currently, we have 167 doctoral and postgraduate students, 257 MPA students, and 193 undergraduates pursuing academic excellence in our school. 

School of Public Policy and Administration is attentively devoted to the academic and applicative research to meet the social demands. We have achieved or are undertaking 18 projects of National Natural Science Fund, 17 projects of National Social Science Fund. We have won 2 first prizes and 2 third prizes of State Science and Technology Award, 2 National Teaching Achievement Awards, 1 Chinese Population Award, 5 second prizes and 5 third prizes of Excellent Achievements of Philosophy and Social Science of Shaanxi Province Award; 2 first prizes and 1 second prize of Science and Technology Award of Higher Educational Institutions of Shaanxi Province; 1 first prize, 1 second prize and 2 third prizes of Science of Humanity Award of Higher Educational Institutions of Shaanxi Province; 2 second prizes of Science and Technology Award of Shaanxi Province. In addition, our school has received funding from United Nations Population Fund, United Nations Children’s Fund, United Nations Food Agriculture Organization, World Health Organization, American NIH Fundation, American NIA Foundation, Ford Foundation, MacArthur Foundation. We are devoted to build our school into a first-class, internationalized academic institution, fostering talents to cater for the social needs, and contributing to the development of the science and public administration.
