【Course Introduction课程介绍】

This course is designed for undergraduate and master's and doctoral students, focusing on the application of combined qualitative and quantitative research methods in health-related research, covering the principles of each method, the specific application practices and the handling of common problems. Through intensive lectures and learning, the course aims to enhance students' data awareness and scientific research ability, and to cultivate students' ability to understand and solve health-related problems from a multidisciplinary perspective.

Through a 16-hour course that combines theory and practice, students will be led to learn how to understand data, how to apply appropriate research methods and select the correct statistical analysis methods to handle corresponding data types, how to apply case studies or interview research methods in various scenarios, and how to code and analyze qualitative data. How to apply specific statistical analysis software (such as Stata, Mplus, etc.) to process and conduct in-depth analysis of quantitative data, such as the application of structural equation models (SEM), especially the improvement of longitudinal data analysis skills, meets the urgent needs of current research in the health field.

本课程面向本科生及硕博研究生，聚焦于健康相关研究中应用定性和定量相结合的研究方法，涵盖各方法的原理、具体应用实践和常见问题的处理，通过集中授课学习，旨在提升学生的数据认识和科研能力，培养学生从多学科视角理解和解决健康相关问题。

通过16学时的理论和实践结合课程，带领同学们学习如何理解数据，如何应用适宜的研究方法并选择正确的统计分析方法处理对应的数据类型，如何种场景应用案例研究或者访谈研究方法以及如何对于定性数据进行编码和分析；对定量数据如何应用具体的统计分析软件（如Stata、Mplus软件等）进行数据的处理和深度分析，如结构方程模型（Structural Equation Modeling，SEM）的应用，尤其是纵向数据分析技能的提升，契合当今健康领域研究的迫切需求。

Ana Lorena Ruano is a sociologist with a PhD in Public Health from Umeå University, Sweden. Currently, she is a researcher and associate professor at the Center for International Health at the University of Bergen, Norway, and serves as editor-in-chief of the International Journal for Equity in Health. Her research interests focus on health systems and policy research, primary health care and social participation, et.al. She has published more than 50 articles in international journals. She currently teaches master's and doctoral programs and is involved in developing skills that benefit scholars, policy makers, and practitioners. She specializes in teaching qualitative methods and teaches at both the University of Bergen and Charité—Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Germany, and is committed to building skills for global health practitioners.

Ana Lorena Ruano，瑞典于默奥大学（Umeå University）公共卫生博士，挪威卑尔根大学国际健康中心（CIH）研究员/副教授，国际期刊International Journal for Equity in Health主编（5年影响因子：4.7；SSCI 1区；管理学门类2“国际知名学术刊物”目录期刊之一）。她的研究聚焦于卫生系统与政策、初级保健及社会参与等领域，目前在国际期刊发表文章50余篇。Lorena目前教授硕博研究生课程，并参与培养对学者、政策制定者和实践者受益的技能。她专注于教授定性方法，在卑尔根大学和德国柏林夏里特医科大学均有教学，致力于为全球卫生从业人员培养技能。

Baeksan Yu, serves as an Assistant Professor at Gwangju National University of Education since 2023. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh, USA in 2020 and did his postdoctoral research at the University of Oslo, Norway/Norwegian Ministry of Public Health during 2020-2023. He is currently teaching undergraduate course Sociology of Education and graduate courses Introduction to Quantitative Methods and Advanced Quantitative Methods at Gwangju University of Education. His recent work has been published in reputable journals, including Journal of Clinical Epidemiology, Preventive Medicine, British Journal of Nutrition, and Research on Child and Adolescent Psychopathology.

Baeksan Yu，2023年起任职于韩国光州教育大学，助理教授。他于2020年取得美国匹兹堡大学(全球软科排名90)博士学位，并于2020-2023年期间在挪威奥斯陆大学(全球软科排名72)/挪威公共卫生部从事博士后研究。Baeksan目前在光州教育大学主要讲授有本科生课程《Sociology of education》，研究生课程有《Introduction to Quantitative Methods》和《Advanced Quantitative Methods》。主要研究成果发表在Journal of Clinical Epidemiology, Preventive Medicine, British Journal of Nutrition, Research on Child and Adolescent Psychopathology等国际知名期刊。

Qing Shen, Associate Professor/Senior Researcher in School of Public Health and General Practise, Tongji University School of Medicine. She received her MSc and PhD degrees from Karolinska Institute, Sweden in 2014 and 2020, and was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Iceland during 2020-2022. Over the years she has been working on the interdisciplinary epidemiological research of mental illness and somatic diseases (incl. cardiovascular disease, cognitive dysfunction, tumors, immunity and inflammation, neurodegenerative disease, etc.), assessing the risk factors and development of diseases, as well as exploring the interaction and potential mechanisms from the social, genetic and environmental perspectives. She has rich experience in the integration and processing of complex medical data, and has published several scientific papers, with the original research published in British Medical Journal, JAMA Psychiatry, Nature Communications, Lancet Regional Health-Europe, eLife, eClinicalMedicine, Breast Cancer Research, BMC Cancer, etc., as the first author/corresponding author (incl. co-author). She has served as an External Reviewer for a list of distinguished journals, such as the British Medical Journal, European Heart Journal, JAMA Network Open, BMC Cancer, BMC Psychiatry, and so on. She also served as an Editorial Board Member for BMC Public Health and BMC Medicine. Currently, she gives lectures for couses at undergraduate and graduate levels, including teaching for <Brain and Cognition>, <Principles and Methods of Epidemiology>, <Bioinformatics>, and <Advances in Epidemiology and Biostatistics> at Tongji University, and was a teaching assistant for <Biostatistics> during her doctoral training.

沈青，同济大学公共卫生与全科医学院副教授/研究员，分别于2014年和2020年取得瑞典卡罗林斯卡医学院(软科排名43)硕士和博士学位，并于2020-2022年期间在冰岛大学从事博士后研究。主要研究方向是精神疾病与重大躯体疾病、慢性病(心血管疾病、认知功能障碍、肿瘤、免疫与炎症、神经退行性疾病等)的交叉流行病学研究，探索遗传和环境对疾病发生发展的交互作用及潜在机制研究，在健康大数据的整合、应用、处理复杂医疗数据分析等方面积累了丰富经验。原创性研究成果以第一作者/通讯作者（含共同）发表于British Medical Journal, JAMA Psychiatry, Nature Communications, Lancet Regional Health-Europe, eLife, eClinicalMedicine, Breast Cancer Research, BMC Cancer等国际权威杂志，并担任British Medical Journal, European Heart Journal, JAMA Network Open, BMC Cancer, BMC Psychiatry等多个国际学术期刊审稿人。担任国际期刊BMC medicine，BMC Public Health杂志编委。目前，她在同济大学承担《脑与认知》《流行病学原理与方法》《生物信息学》《流行病学与统计学新进展》等课程教学工作，博士训练期间曾担任《Biostatistics》课程助教。

Li Lu is an associate professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Public Policy and Administration, Xi'an Jiaotong University, and has been selected as a member of Xi'an Jiaotong University's “youth talent support program” (Category B) in 2022. She received her Bachelor's degree in Medicine from Wuhan University of Science and Technology, Master's degree in Medicine from Xi'an Jiaotong University, and PhD degree from the University of Macau in 2012, 2015 and 2019, respectively. She then pursued postdoctoral research at the University of Bordeaux, French National Institute of Health and Medical Research, and the University of Oslo, Norwegian Institute of Public Health, respectively, from 2019-2022. She is currently presiding over projects such as Social Science Foundation of Shaanxi Province, and participating in many studies supported by the Project of Philosophy and Social Science Leading Talents, project of China Medical Board, the Project of NordForsk, and researches supported by French National Research Agency. She has published more than 60 papers (5 ESI 1 % highly cited papers and 1 hot paper) in SCI/SSCI-indexed journals such as The Lancet Public health, The Lancet Regional Health-Europe, Trauma Violence & Abuse, Psychological medicine and BMC Medicine, with Google Scholar H-index of 28, and a total of more than 3500 citations. Some of her research results have been reported by Yahoo, Top Sant&eacute; and Futura-Sciences. She currently serves as an associate editor of International journal for equity in health, an editorial board member of BMC psychiatry and Chinese Health Economics; and an expert in the Women's/Gender Studies Expert Pool of Shaanxi Province. Her current research interests focus on health management, health policy and mental health services.

卢丽，西安交通大学公共政策与管理学院副教授，博士生导师，2022年入选西安交通大学“青年拔尖人才支持计划”（B类）。分别于2012年、2015年和2019年获得武汉科技大学医学学士学位（预防医学）、西安交通大学医学硕士学位、澳门大学哲学博士学位。随后于2019年-2022年分别在波尔多大学/法国国家健康与医学研究院(UMR U1219, INSERM)，以及奥斯陆大学（全球软科排名72）/挪威公共卫生部(NIPH)从事博士后研究工作。主持陕西省社科基金等项目，参与哲学社会科学领军人才项目、美国中华医学基金会项目、北欧应用研究合作组织(NordForsk)项目和法国国家研究总署支持的多项研究。在The Lancet Public health、The Lancet Regional Health-Europe、Trauma Violence & Abuse、Psychological medicine和BMC Medicine等SCI/SSCI收录学术期刊发表论文60余篇（5篇ESI 1 %高被引，1篇热点论文），Google学术H指数28，总被引3500多次。部分研究成果得到雅虎、法国‘最健康’(Top Sant&eacute;)和未来科学(Futura-Sciences)等媒体和新闻网站的报道。她目前担任International journal for equity in health副编辑，BMC psychiatry和《中国卫生经济》编委；陕西省妇女/性别研究专家库专家。目前的研究兴趣聚焦在人群健康管理、卫生政策和心理卫生服务等方面。

Lai Sha, Ph.D., Associate Professor. She has been teaching at the Institute of Health Management and Policy, School of Public Policy and Administration, Xi'an Jiaotong University since January 2019. Her research interests include health management and policy, specifically health care system, hospital management, and health management. At present, she presides over five scientific research projects, including Youth Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, General Program of China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, and Social Science Foundation of Shaanxi Province. She also participates in more than 10 vertical projects and provincial and ministerial level horizontal research projects, including Major Project of Philosophy and Social Sciences by the Ministry of Education, the National Key Technology R&D Program, and the China Medical Board. In recent years, she has published more than 20 papers, including 5 first-authored papers in International Journal for Equity in Health, BMC PUBLIC HEALTH and other internationally recognized academic journals.

赖莎，博士，副教授，2019年1月至今在西安交通大学公共政策与管理学院卫生管理与政策研究所任教。研究方向为卫生管理与政策，具体包括医疗保障体系、医院管理、健康管理等。目前，主持国家自然科学基金青年项目、中国博后面上项目、陕西省社会科学基金、校级培育项目等5项科研项目；参与教育部哲学社会科学研究重大课题攻关项目、科技部“十一五”科技支撑计划重点项目、美国中华医学基金会（CMB）等纵向项目及省部级横向研究10余项。近年来，发表论文20余篇，其中5篇第一作者论文发表在International Journal for Equity in Health、BMC PUBLIC HEALTH等国际知名学术刊物。
